Good Day All
I am having an issue with a few drawings. I cannot delete certain views, and in some cases not even dimension them. When I do try delete or dimension I get the following error.
"THE SKETCH DOES NOT CONTAIN A VALID SECTION LINE"
I have tried a few things, but cannot get views to delete. the drawing actually feel like it is corrupt. Please let me know if anyone has a solution to this?

Many thanks to Mark for sharing the link! I took a look at the defect, INVGEN-15280. It does look similar here. This is a corruption actually. If you expand View 5, you will Section L is bogus. It is a section view without a sketch. As a result, Inventor keeps complaining about the fact. I guess there must be a way to reproduce the corruption and it used to crash. Now the crash is fixed but the corruption is stored in the file.
The defect note says there is a fix to enable "Delete" workflow for this kind of view. The fix will be in 2019.2. Do you know how to reproduce the corruption?

Hi! I cannot comment on the exact time frame. But, it will be a few months before it is ready to release. In the meantime, you may want to consider copy and paste the good views to a different sheet as a workaround.

I get the same error.
What is disturbing is that I am trying to delete a Detail View, not a section view.
My Detail View I am trying to delete, has no Section View in it or associated to it in any way.
Hi! This is like a view corruption. I guess some operations lead to this behavior. It probably used to crash but the crash has been fixed and the corruption is tolerated now.
Unfortunately, you will need to move the healthy views to a different sheet and then delete the sick section view by deleting the sheet. Do you know how to reproduce the behavior?
