Inventor 2019- PREVIOUS SELECTION doesn't work

Hi there everybody!

I just installed a new Inventor 2019 and noticed that one very important feature doesn't seem to work- PREVIOUS SELECTION button.

It is very useful when creating different View Representations. But somehow it doesn't seem to work.

Can anybody check if theirs is working?

I have Inventor 2019.0.1 installed.  The function "Previous Selection" functions normally.

What I figured is that PREVIOUS SELECTION works, but not the same way it used to work before, making it absolutely useless actually...

The way it works with me now: let's say I have 4 components in the assembly, I then select 2 of them. Now I can INVERT SELECTION, when I do that- I then can click on PREVIOUS SELECTION. Then it works.

But After I clicked on INVERT SELECTION, then PREVIOUS SELECTION function is not much different from INVERT SELECTION. Anyway, when I choose two of the components and then click on INVERT SELECTION, I then want to turn off thhose components visilibity. Then I want to click on PREVIOS SELECTION to select those components that I had turned visibility off and then afterward I I could INVERT SELECTION to chose two other components in the assembly to toggle their visilibity in the new VIEW REPRESENTATION.

something like this ...

Kind difficult to explain. probably I will need to take a screencast.

There is another weird thing. When for example I have some of the components with turned off visilibity and then I select all visible components and then click on INVERT SELECTION- it supposed to select those components that are not visible, but it doesn't.

Am I missing something? Is there now somewhere an option for being able to use Selection tools on components that are not visible?

The process you describe here, works perfectly.  See screencast.  You can also use the "Find" command to also find components by visibility.

WHat you show there works fine. But it's another issue I am referring to, here is my screencast:

Dear Kelly,

I don't see any open suport cases. Could you please check that up for me?

It is this account that has registered Autocad account that I am working from with Inventor.

Vadim.

Hello @Anonymous the status is still open and being worked on, there was activity this morning so it is still being assigned and investigating the best way to resolve. I am following it so if there is a change I will try to report back here when it is updated or resolved if possible.

This issue was reported by an employee internally, unless the ticket was started and reported by a customer it is not linked to a case so it won't show a status.

The best way to check on this case in the future would be to Contact Support to inquire further.
