Inventor 2018 dxf/dwg file unrecognised

Hi,

I need to export faces to dxf of dwg files to get laser cutting done, but most of my suppliers use Solidworks and cannot open the files as they show up corrupted. I can open them on true view, but not on Sigmanest, Solidworks or eDrawings. Please help as it's causing a huge issue.

Hi! I guess the CAD packages your vendors are using do not support 2018 dwg format. You can simply export it to earlier dxf/dwg version. On export, click on Options button -> select AutoCAD 2013 or earlier version. You can also save the configuration there so it is always exported to your selected AutoCAD version.

Many thanks!

Hi Patrick,

Sorry to hear about this issue!

Is it possible to provide us a sample file so we could look into it?

Thanks a lot!

Hi,

Here's a simple example, it opens fine on TrueView but I can't seem to open it on any other foreign software
