Hello!

I have a problem opening Inventor 2018 on windows 10. I open the program and the loading screen opens, before it finishes loading it disappears and then nothing, Inventor never opens. What is the problem and what can I do about it?

Thanks

Is this a new problem (did it used to work just fine)?

Or did it never work (never installed properly)?

Do you have these 3 files?

The files @JDMather asked about are the extracted installation files..  No biggie (at this point) if you don't have them.

In WIndows start menu, locate the Autodesk section/Inventor 2018/Inventor reset.  Run it.  Does Inventor work now?

I tried running the reset utility and it had options for resetting inventor 2017 and 2018 versions for some reason. I dont have installed 2017. I resetted them both but its still not running .

Did you have Inventor 2017 installed at one time?

Bring up Windows Task Manager.  Look at processes..  Is there only one Inventor listed there?

What happens if you right mouse click on the Inventor icon and run as administrator?

I cant find anything listed on task manager with inventor name, cause it doesnt even open. When i run it as admin same thing happens as before. I get the loading screen in which i think normally there is some text on the lower left corner. Then nothing happens. Look at this screenshot.

Perform a license reset per this article.

I started a clean reinstall cause i couldnt find the solution. As i am installing it right now, a program called akamai netsession client started installing too. I remember having that program before and i disabled it from windows startup manually cause i thought it wasnt good for the computer and it didnt say it was being used by autodesk apps. That might be the problem i think

I recommend that you download the 3 files that indicated earlier rather than use akamai.

Once and done.  Never need to download (2018) again.
