Inventor 2018 Constraint lag over time

So our company upgrade to Inventor 2018 from Inventor 2017 and I few of us are having the same problem. When we press the constraint command or use the keyboards shortcut ("c"), there is delay before the dialog box opens up. It's about 5 seconds or so. If I reboot my computer it fixes the problem, but as we continue to work throughout the day, we experience more and more lag. Just to be clear, only the constraint command is effected. If Inventor as a whole go slower throughout the day, I would assume it was an issue with my computer.

Both Inventor and Windows 10 64 bit are fully updated as of today.

Does this happen on every model or just certain ones?  Is the Design Dr (red cross - quick access toolbar) on/enable?

To add to @Mark.Lancaster post ...

What happens if you do a rebuild all ... see if you have any issues (red cross comes up) after you do it ....

I find a lot of the time, this is the issue.

Design Doctor is not red. So far I haven't found an assembly that isn't effected by it. It even happened on a small assembly with a dozen simple parts.

Rebuild all doesn't bring up a Red cross. It also doesn't improve the rate at which the Constrain Dialog box appears.

So is there anything I can do to fix this? Do you guys need any more information from me? The suggestion sadly did not work. The size of the assembly doesn't matter, I can create a new assembly with two parts in it and the same thing happens.

What Inventor 2018 updates have you applied to Inventor?

For a test, exit Inventor...

1.  Can you disable anti-virus or uninstall it?

2.  Run a malware utility to ensure no malware is present

3.  Clean out your personal temp (%temp%) folder.  Delete as many files and folders as possible.  You will not be able to delete them all but delete as many as you can.

4.  How much RAM does your machine have?

5.  Where are your files stored?

6.  Where is your Inventor Design Data folder location?

7.  Disconnect from your network/internet connection.  Basically unplug your network connection.  Launch Inventor again and see if things change.

Hi! This sounds like an issue related to Windows 10 Creator Update. Quite a few dialogs in Inventor with a lot of icons are affected by this update. We are working on a solution but it is not yet available to the public. The only solution I am aware right now is to roll back Fall Creator Update.

Many thanks!

I can agree that it's related to the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, at least for me.  Everything seemed to be running fine until this update rolled in (update to version 1709).  I'm going to roll back until something comes around to fix.

Looks like I'll uninstall the windows update.

I find the third workaround slightly comical, "Wait for the Place Constraint dialog box appearing". Doing nothing doesn't sound like a workaround to me. But, I digress, thanks for helping me out.

I have been experiencing the same issue. Did rolling back the update seem to fix the problem?

Thanks.

I haven't gotten around to uninstalling the Windows update, but I did upgrade. I can confirm that the latest update did not fix my issue. I still have to restart my computer throughout the day, to maintain responsiveness.

We hope to release an update (2018.2.1) which includes a fix for this in the next day or so. A fix for 2017 was included in the 2017.4.3 update already released.

Thanks,
Chris

The update is not available, I cannot download it from either sites. Was it removed?
