Inventor 2018 browser?

Where is the part browser?  How do I display it.  Something so simple in 2015, has turned to hide and seek in 2018.  What am I doing wrong and how do I make it visible.

That's strange, can you post a screen shot?

Open up a part file, then try it.

Check the Model box.

Check "model"... Thats it now..

Its now called "model" instead of "model browser" or "browser" whatever it used to be called..

Check model...

and realize it got a BIG overhaul this year so it will look slightly different.. And its got a few "bugs" as its new and well... thats what Autodesk does with "new stuff"..

If thats checked do you have dual monitors? If so it might be "off screen" and there is a way to reset that (Inventor reset utility is one)

Depending on how heavily you rely on Inventor and how tight your schedule is I might suggest sticking with 2015 at least until update 1 or whatever is out for 2018..

Its quite "buggy" this year.. Nothing "major" but annoying to say the least..

Thank you thank you thank you!

I was just cursing loudly because Browser no longer showed in that list!!

I do love Inventor and at the same time very baffled that someone would chose to change the naming of this from Browser to Model. We talk about model all the time in reference to something entirely different, why do this!? ARRGGGGGG

Yes.. is likely that way because it was rushed out of beta before it was more "complete/issue free"...

The entire "browser" got an overhaul this year and they clearly have not finished work on it..

Even the "tooltips" are incomplete and "rushed" as they are not formatted the same way for "ilogic" and "model" as the ones above them that weren't changed this year..

The tooltip for "model" states "Turns on and off the visibility of the model." that is confusing but if you are a "button pusher" you would quickly figure out what it does but those that are cautious of pushing buttons that they don't know what they do will/can certainly be confused..

Hello @Anonymous they changed things up to clear up the verbiage. It was either pick one or the other, since the browser tree said model, looks like that is what they went with.

Easy when you know how? Many people have been resetting Inventor, which from your post is complete madness. I am an old hand at Solidworks and find that I need to get up to speed with inventor. Its a very good piece of kit and I look forward to getting to grips with it.

Thanks again.

Best
