Hello!
I'm trying to figure out if there is a way to export a file from Autodesk Inventor Professional 2016 to a rotatable 3D PDF. I've been told that 2016 has the capability to do 3D PDF's but I can't seem to figure it out. Please help!
Thanks!

Not that I'm aware of.. You are not referring to Autodesk 3D DWF (Design Review) files are you?

Actually I was hoping that the function would be available in the program rather than a third party source like it is in Publisher. It could be that I was mistaken but I'm pretty sure it was supposed to be one of the features in the 2016 version.
Thanks for all the input so far btw 🙂

Austin,
You can export 3D PDF from Inventor Publisher but not yet from Inventor 2016. So right now the only opton is a 3rd party solution.

Not necessarily.. Autodesk has issues with their "integrated" 2d export functionality right now.

We tried 3d PDF's years ago.. It worked just fine as long as you were 1 year behind on Inventor as it took almost 1 year for Adobe to update their importer to open the latest Inventor files..
Other than that you had to use the OpenGL capture tool that Adobe had. It worked but you lost alot of control as to what you could hide/show,etc...

I have used a 3d pdf exporter of 3rd party and it is worked fine for me. It exports my inventor model to 3d pdf in very sort time and with same output in 3d pdf file. I have used this in inventor 2015 and 2016. It is available at : http://prototechsolutions.com/Live/plugins.html

I use Bentley View V8i free download. I save my Inventor .iam file to Autocad .dwg which makes it a 3-D .dwg file, then open it up in the Bentley View V8i. Select File\Print to PDF, then choose "Print to 3D". I would say it has something to be desired, but it works.

For other new users.. Inventor 2017 now has built in 3d PDF functionality along with a template system to "style" the output and add additional information to the PDF file..
