Hello,
Recently I have installed Autodesk Inventor, but the program is unusable. When I start the program the loading screen appears briefly with the loading bar roughly a quarter of the way before crashing, opening an error report that says 'A software problem has caused Autodesk Inventor to close unexpectedly."
I have tried
- Uninstalling and reinstalling
- Repairing
- Updating the program
- Restarting
- Running as administrator
I have also had the same issue with the 2017 edition. Other Autodesk programs such as ReCap and a couple other I opened to test appear to work correctly.
Any help, solutions or suggestions would be helpful and welcome.
Cheers,
Jason
If you used Download Now or Install Now from your browser then I suggest you clean up and use the offline installer from virtual agent
Here's how to do that.
Then I would use Microsoft FixIt to clean up the old installation, may resource for this.
Make sure you disable UAC (user account control in control panel) and any security software that could block the installation.
If it fails once again to install or run properly then install AIDA (Autodesk® Installation Diagnostic Assistant) and send us the reports it generates.
Hi,
I have tries all the steps you asked but am still experiencing the same problem unfortunately. I have attached the AIDA zip file (I think I scanned the correct folder) so if you know anything else that could help from that it would be much appreciated.
Also, during both installation and uninstalling the error report appeared again while the inventor program of the Autodesk package was being installed/uninstalled, if this information is of any significance.
Cheers
Jason

Do you have a screenshot? an error message or error code?
you do have an "error 1603" but that's during Configurator 360.
If you used MIcrosoft FixIt I would suggest you try it again and again till the product is no longer showing (it might take more than one attempt).
Make sure you have administrative rights, and that UAC is off.
I will ask @ChrisMitchell01 to take a look at it and see if anything else surfaces.
Try to install again and apply the updates as well, with full restarts in between.
if that fails again then try to create a new user account (administrator) and try from there.
Send me a private message with the files in your error message along with a system info.
DO NOT post those open on the forum, there is sensitive info there.
I am unable to add attachments in a private message (or cant figure out how to), is there another way that I can send you my system info and the files?
Jason
Upload it to my Dropbox here.
Can you change "FLEXnet Licensing Service 64" to automatic, please? it's on manual and stopped now.
Double click on it and change it to Automatic and click on start.
next would be to disable any add-ins.
navigate to "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Inventor 2017\Bin" and run "AddInMgr.exe" disable all add-ins and try again.
When attempting to run 'AddInMgr.exe', an error message reading 'The current version of Inventor is not currently registered and did not correctly re-register on star up.' appears. is there another option/way to solve this?
searched some more on your problem and you seem to have error "0xE0434352" just like here.
I have tries repairing and updating windows. It is all up to date except for one security update that repeatedly fails (KB4025339), but when I try to manually download this, a message appears claiming that the update isn't applicable for my computer.
I would try and install all Inventor updates. Maybe one of those will override just the right files and make it work.

Hi @Mark.Lancaster, thanks for joining in.
if @Anonymous agrees I can share the Dropbox files with you.
@Anonymous
There's nothing else I can really add to this since @salariua has already pointed out what the error is stating in the crash report that you sent.
Have you tried creating another user on your machine and see if the crash report still appears when you launch Inventor?
If you look at the Windows Event logs on your machine at the time when you launch Inventor are you seeing any warnings or errors there?
Do you have netframe 4.7 installed?

One thing I didn't hear from @Anonymous if he started the FlexNet Service and changed it to automatic.
