Inventor 2015 projects

I'm having a problem with Inventor not finding material properties, such as surfaces, when I open some assemblies. The resolve link dialogue box is going to the correct folder but when I select open I get the message The location of the selected file is not in the search path of the active project file. However this folder is in the projects library search path.

Also why do some of the search paths appear in red? At first I thought it was because they were sub folders of another search path folder but this doesn't always seem to be the case.

I have attached a document showing how our folders and my project are set up and the messages I am getting.

Thanks

Ruth

Welcome to the community...

There's no need to create a word document and attach here.  Just use the photos icon and attach your images directly to the posting.  Smiley Wink

You are indicating the texture location is under G:\Eng Dept Common Files\Drawings\Inventor 2015 design data but the reference is located under G:\Inventor 2015\library folders\textures\surfaces.   In addition when its red it means that it can't find the information.  I'm seeing you got definition pointing to two different locations on that G drive.

Also with content center folder location, you don't include the en-us information.

In my opinion by looking at your layout..  You have folders and files all over the place.  I would recommend a more simplified approach to this.
