Inventor 2009 installation problem on Windows 10 - Application Error 0cx0000142

Hi,

Having used Inventor 2009 on Windows 7 for some years it was inevitable that i would end up with a Windows 10 OS. Following a successful installation of Inventor 2009 when launching i get an application error message 0cx0000142 appearing. I had tried playing around with the compatibility trouble shooter and even re zeroing the DLL register but still no luck! Can anybody please advise if there is a way out of this and what i might need to do in order to fix the issue?

Many thanks.

2009 won't run on Windows 10 ...it's not supported.

The best I've seen is 2014 with some adjustments needed ...

It's time to upgrade Inventor ...sorry

Mike

Hi Michael,

Thanks again for your reply.

The earliest version of Inventor that will run on win10 is 2011 (but it will need all service packs & updates/hotfixes installed).

Thanks,
Chris

Chris

Are they officially supporting it then?

What do you mean by "it"?

Inventor 2011 is no longer officially supported but win10 definitely is. We officially support Inventor back to Inventor 2014 as of now. (Current release plus 3 versions back).

Thanks
Chris
