Installing Student Edition on Windows 10

Hello,

I'm trying to take advantage of the free 3 year student licence, but can't install the software on windows 10 (Inventor 2015, as the 64 bit 2016 won't install on my laptop). Is there a way around this?

What error are you getting .. 

If no error, what's it doing to not install...

If you are trying to download from the Student Community - try instead downloading from the Autodesk Virtual Agent.

Whats wrong with 2016?

Do you really have a 32 bit laptop with Win10 on it? 

Why don't you downgrade back to Win7 or 8?..

There is NO reason you MUST have Windows 10 on any computer.. even more so if you are still 32 bit

Also many have been able to install 2015 and others on Win10.. So what exact problems/errors are you getting?

Are you installing all the updates/service packs when doing the install?

The reports I am seeing is that the Student Community is identifying Windows 10 as a Mac OS when trying to use Install Now.

Avoid the problem altogether by using the Autodesk Virtual Agent download.

The Virtual Agent doesn't try to install anything - it is simply a file download like any other file download.  So it wouldn't matter if the OS was Win 97 or even a Mac OS.  It is a simply a file download of the compressed install file.  Same as having a DVD or USB thumb drive in your hand.
