inport dwg

I am having problems importing some simple dwg files into 6.
I have tried 2002 and MDT files. I have purged these files. I have tried
Model and Paper space inputs but all I get is the Thumbprint image before
loading but no image in the Inventor file. I have had success with some
files but most are a problem. Am I missing something or is there a problem
with the translator.
Help Please.

What are your exact steps... is this 2d or 3d data. If you want to zip up and post a
example AutoCad file to IVCF I am sure someone will take a look at it and give some
feedback.

Just 2D into a sketch.
I start with a sketch in inventor import dwg and follow the wizard including
the option button.
Thanks for the offer I will post an example to you on Monday

I was able to bring it into R7 without any problems. It was way away from
the origin, so I opened the AutoCad file and moved the modelspace lines over
to 0,0,0, and then brought it into a new sketch. Could it have been that it
was too far away from the origin that you weren't zooming out enough to see
it?

I posted the file back under yours. You should be able to open it in R6.

Thanks Kent
It worked fine.
I did try zooming to extents to no avail. I since found with a similar
file that would not load , that if I copy paste it into a new drawing in
AutoCAD
and then Purged it, it worked. I think it is because there was a block that
would not Purge in the original drawing, may have been an X ref.or similar.
Many thanks again for your help.
