in need of a method

Inventor community,

I need help coming up with a method to get part 42 to conform to parts it will get bonded to (part 1, Part 56, and part 54). I have bent the part to be close to where the edges should be on the left side of the front view. Is there a method to get the part to conform? The part must line up to the corner circled in the image Capture1. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

An assembly file (*.iam) is only a list of hyperlinks to the part files (*.ipt) and a record of assembly constraints (and a bit more).

You must include the part files.

Not really, at least not for me.
I don't have an rar extractor, and my experience with the "free" ones is that they install mal-ware that I am not interested in having on my squeaky clean machine.

Fortunately for me, when I need to compress a file - Windows Explorer includes a zip functionality.

I would model differently.

How much training/experience do you have with Inventor?

Have you installed all Service Packs and Updates for your version of Inventor?

I realized I didn't offer any useful information in previous post.

My impression was that this is an advanced design that would require more experience.

Frankly, I only know of one school where you could get that experience.  

I would look into multi-body solids techniques and everything you can find on surface modeling.

I suspect there might be some techniques that you need to "unlearn".

If it were my design - I would start over from scratch.

I don't have much experience with inventor, i'm teaching myself as i go along. I'll look into multi-body solids techniques and surface modeling.

I would be concerned that you are developing poor modeling techniques that will be difficult to correct.

Stick around here and post questions right from the first sketch - you have gotten very deep in to a project that is sitting on a bad foundation.

Watch (and search for) the solutions to problems posted here by others.

It would easily take 6 months to learn the techniques needed to properly solve your design with a solution of high quality.

Most of what I know about Inventor has been learned through interaction with the other users on this forum.

This is a great video about modeling techniques. Can you recommend a similar "best-practices" video for assembling? We have a new hire at my company who's new to Inventor. The video you linked to would be great for him to watch in regards to modeling, and it would be great to have a complementary video for him to watch relating to constraining and other assembly topics.
