Hi,
I've been having some trouble with file conversion. My version of Inventor (2016) refuses to convert a '.sldprt' file I need (from solidworks 2016), but every time I try opening it, it brings up an error report on Internet Explorer. Is there any other way to get the file to open without using SolidWorks? To clarify; I have windows 10 x64 bit and Inventor 2016 (no solidworks).
Thanks in Advance!

Inventor is always a year behind supporting solidworks. So it can only import Solidworks 2015. You would need to go to Inventor version 2017. Attached is a STEP file for you (hope that helps).

In general Inventor can only open other CAD programs files from 1 release back.. So 2016 can open 2015 files from Solidworks..
But sometimes they release updates to Inventor during the year that may allow the compatibility of the newer version..
So #1 I'd make sure you are fully up to date with service packs/updates for Inventor
But..
I opened your wheel and saved as step file (its attached)
doh... @Mark.Lancaster Mark you beat me this time.. I'll give you this one.. But never again sir

Inventor 2016 can import Solidworks files up to Solidworks 2015.
You will need to get the file in another format or upgrade to Inventor 2017. See: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/inventor-products/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2017...
