Hello,
I have imported a .STEP file in Inventor 2017 professional. There where no warnings so everything seems to work properly. But, the imported step file is not visible on my screen, see the screen shots. When I click on "Base 1" I see the selection wires of the part, so it really seems to be there... How can I make it visible? See the screenshots below and the attached .STEP file.
I hope anyone can help me.
Many thanks in advance.
Kind Regards.
Hi Robert,
Thank you for your reply. But I think I don't really understand what you are meaning, everything seems to be right to me, even the HTML file which I've posted below. Also because the luminous edges it seems there is a solid, but it's not visible...
Could you make it more clear what you mean?
Thanks in advance!
Kind regards
See attached file.
Hi,
when I tried to repair the body I did receive the following issues from inventor as shown on the attached screen shot.
the errors are given on the marked faces/shapes.
might be worth checking up on it.

The developers should probably take a look at this one.
I used other SoftWare to fix the file. (actually, the other SW did not "fix" the file because of zero thickness geometry errors, but at least it opened and let me save as a STEP that Inventor would read)
I didn't spend a lot of time trying different options in Inventor though.
Hi Guys,
The behavior does not look right to me. On 2017, the body is imported but it checks very bad. On 2018, the import simply fails. It looks the there is bad geometry in the STEP file. I will work with project team to understand the issue better.
Many thanks!
