iMate Help!!!!!

Anonymous
Not applicable

I have a bushing that i am trying to place into a pulley. no i have used IMates in the past but I can not get this to work properly. The biggest problem I am having is that I need to place 2 hubs into 1 pulley. My thought is i would use compost iMates to achieve this as I was going to use iLogic to replace them with the different size bushings automatically. I can get one to go into my pulley perfect but I can not get the second one on the opposite side of the pulley.

Hi! The reason why the Composite iMate does not work because one of the child iMate definition is inconsistent in XTB and Head Pulley. Open XTB in its own window. Drag "PulleyFace" from "PulleyA." Edit "PulleyFace" and you will find it is a Flush iMate with offset of 0.4375in, while the "PulleyFace" in Head Pulley has 0.9375in.

To match an iMate, the two iMates have to be the same type with the same offset distance. Otherwise, they will not match. You may want to recreate the iMates so they are consistent. Let me know if it works for you.

Many thanks!

Thank you for the feedback. I have done as you suggested and find that one of the Bushings go in just as i would expect. when I try to place the second bushing it tries to place it on top of the first bushing. When I have used iMates before once an iMate was used it would not be available to be used again. But with composite iMates it appears that they can? This is the first time I have tried using composite iMates.

Am I doing something wrong other then not matching the values of the offsets? Should i use just regular iMates and not the composite?

Hi! I think this has something to do with two sets of Composite iMate. You have the other unconsumed Comp iMate. As a result, it can be taken for another component.

Many thanks!
