Ilogic tutorials

Hi all

For many years I have been threatening to learn ilogic.

Can anyone point me in the direction of, or send me some decent simple beginners tutorials

with the working files, for an absolute beginner to start learning.

I have googled but can find nothing simple and easy or with example files attached.

I am working on Inventor Pro 2018.

I have worked on Inventor for many years now (about 9 or 10)

and previously worked on AutoCAD since AutoCAD R12

Hello Mike,

There are a lot of classes on the AU website that might be a good starting point, try this link.

http://inventortrenches.blogspot.com/ Curtis has a ton of blog posts about ilogic.. I learned mostly from reading through his code/comments and just trying/failing/getting back up again.

Some links here..

I think there are even a few tutorials in the Getting Started tab tutorials in Inventor..

Both suggestions before me are good, here are a couple specific classes from AU that I have saved as a reference

Hi Mike,

Here is a very good collection of iLogic models for beginners, courtesy of Expert Elite @S_May

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/inventor-customization/collection-of-ilogic-models-for-beginners/td-p...

iLogic is a powerful tool. Without it, Inventor has trouble finishing certain tasks easily. The more you use it, the better you will be at it. And, the more you appreciate it.

My suggestion is to define your problem first. Try to simplify the problem and use iLogic to solve it. It is fairly easy to pick up. We have many iLogic experts here to help.

Many thanks!

Thanks to everyone for the links.

I have noted all the  link addresses and downloaded all the pdf's

I will investigate.

I am busy converting the whole drawing office from AutoCAD 2d and old paper drawings to Inventor 3d.

Once done, I would like to investigate ilogic for streamlining even further existing models and new designs.

Already Inventor is very powerful with its parametric dimensioning and linking equations to dimensions,

illogic will take it one step further.

Once I have figured out the very basics of creating a rule etc

I am going to start doing my own simple ilogic routines step by step and use the ilogic forum for

specific answers to each query
