I need to really write a program with a form to choose my washer but I have no clue where to start.

so I want it to pull part based on part code

a start of part number, mat'l used, outside dia, and gauge

Not sure how to start this.

Please please help

First you need to provide more details about this washer.  Something that you modeled, or its in the content center?   I know you are requesting a program but you could also just do this same thing with an iPart or perhaps publish it to content center..  Other options beside an iLogic program..

Paging @Curtis_Waguespack or you could post over in the Inventor customization forum to get programming support.

Have you had any training in Inventor?

Sounds like you should just be using content center and not need custom code for whats already there..

Or use iparts if you want to create your own family of washers..

I have it now in content center but didn't realize it has different gauge material.

So here is how I want the part number to look

12345-(holedia) (material used)(innerdia)(outsidedia)-gauge

           0                   brass would be (B)                4     .065,.04,.051

           0                   brass would be (B)                6

           1                   brass would be (B)                6

           1                  steel would be (S)                 7

            2                  steel would be (S)               8

            2                  steel would be (S)               10

See I just don't know where to start I was hoping to make a form so you just pick what you need and out POPS the part number into your broswer
