You can read up on the capabilities of the Design Assistant. A simple and quick workaround is to close all the files, using Windows Explorer rename A.ipt A.tmp, open B.idw and when it asks for the location of A.ipt choose B.ipt, then save B.idw. Now rename A.tmp back to a.ipt.

I would recommend you get familiar with the Design Assistant so you don't have to do those types of file system operations.
