IDW - image in a title block

Hi,

I am now on AI 2021 and still it seems not possible to set up image in a title block in a reasonable manner.

Does anyone have a workable solution to the following problem:

1) I have a bunch of title blocks in my drawing template. They all have identical logo and company detail section.

Until now I had logo created with text field (slightly customised font), so I was able to set dimensions and position precisely and  copy this settings among various title bocks.

2) now I need to switch to a image based logo and I still require so all title bocks look identical in this section.

3) but it is still not possible neither to constrain nor to dimension images in IDW title bock sketches. Even if I set up image in one title block I am not able to copy this settings to other title bocks.

4) copy/paste image in title bock sketch does not work.

So my problem is:

How to identically set up the same image in various title bocks, without redefining all of them from scratch.

This is what i've done for our titleblocks, low tech workaround but....:
Draw a "sketch only" frame the size of the image, then visually position the image in the corners. (while zoomed in as much as possible)
Once you have your first titleblock set up, copy it by expanding the drawing resources folder, then the titleblocks folder and right-clicking on your created titleblock.
Select copy and then right-click on the titleblock folder and select paste.
It should give you a "copy of <name of titleblock>", which you can then edit "around" the position of the image.

Hope that helps...

--edit--

The "sketch only" frame is only helpful if your image doesn't align with outer visible edges of the titleblock, just to make that clear...

This is exactly what I want to avoid.

I have created bunch of title blocks this way before and now I need to change the logo.

So redefining all of the dynamic and prompted entry fields is what I wan to avoid.

But your suggestion gives me an idea how it may be possible to approach the problem.

@Cris-Ideas  Have you tried using the Drawing Resource Transfer Wizard?

It is supposed to let you swap out resources..

IT does have some limitations but may be what you are looking for..

@mcgyvr

Thanks for suggestion. But I do not think it will work in this case as I have no resources to swap as in original title blocks there are no images in logo section but plain text.

Hi Cris,

What Brian meant was that you could swap out one title block definition (including image) with another one title block. The wizard is able to transfer title blocks, sheet formats, borders, and sketch symbols (the resources are not defined in the styles).

Many thanks!

I understood that differently, but even what you describe is not what I am trying to do.

So I have multiple title blocks in my IDW template, and I need NOT to replace one title block with another one but to replace logo section in ALL title blocks I have defined (so to redefine them all), and have them all look identically (in the logo section) after that.

So basically I need a way to precisely align image in the title block.
