iassembly / ipart / specify range for size / inventor 2015

Hello We want to create electrical panel frame assembly as iassembly on inventor 2015. We need any component have below ability: a) custom parameter column b) specify range for column As a result, we want to have ability that we can change frame size to specify size on iassembly. We saw this video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OHolDSVKU8M in this video 3 sizes detected but we want to have unlimited size on range. Can i add this iassembly to library? Best Regards .

Hello @Anonymous,

You may need iLogic to input a value within the range for iAssembly configuration.

Hi! Please note that iAssembly/iPart were designed to create library components (self-sustained, independent, and totally driven by the table). The notion of on-the-fly configuration contradicts the original design intent.

I suspect you should use iLogic rule to configure one variation (drive parameters at all levels). Once you are happy with one variation, you can use iLogic Design Copy to spawn the version. Then you keep working on another version.

It allows you to have infinite permutation without the need to capture it on a table.

Many thanks!
