Can you share the file?  Unless you can get the decal to work, it wont show up in ray-tracing.

You dont need to try and send me the file directly, instead post in here in the forum, when you compose messages there is a place down below to add attachments.  Put the .ipt part file with the decal there.  (Dont worry about the assembly file)

Are you getting any sort of error when trying to apply the image as a decal?

Your image shows that you have the function for decals activated, but you haven't made any selections....
If you select the image and then the face you want to apply the decal to, then hit OK, does it give an error?
If you change the "wrap to face" option when trying to apply the decal, does that help?

Like ajarrett said, unless you have an applied decal, it won't show up in rendering.

I took a slightly better look at your image, i'm seeing the following:
You have a part with just a sketch, which you are editing "in place".
I suspect this is where you have the image for your decal.

This part is inside an assembly, which i suspect contains the part that you want to apply the decal to.

This is not how the decal function works.
You have 2 options:
1. create some geometry in the part with the image to apply the decal to. (preferably the same shape as the actual decal)
Then constrain this to the face at the desired location in the assembly.

2. open the part with the geometry you want to apply the decal to and create the decal in that file with a new sketch containing your image.
(so inside the "GEN1029....etc. file, the multibody, not the assembly)

The decal function only works within a part itself, you can't apply it across parts within an assembly.
Let us know if you can't figure it out.
