HI!

If you don't even know the kind of software to use... it will take some months to learn only how to start. 🙂

That's an animation designed person, probably not done in Inventor.  ..the best I know of out there is IMike from Cbliss page

well, it kinda depends on what you want to do and what experience you have...

so, question 1 - what are you wanting to do?

Inventor is typically an engineering package used to design stuff - if ergonomics and anthropometrics are a consideration then something crude like iMike is usually fine to get a sense of scale and proportions.

If you're wanting a fancy 3d animation or image with a guy being chased by a barrel surrounded by fire and smoke, then Inventor isn't really suitable.  Something like 3D Studio or Blender would probably be typically used - both are more "artistic" than engineering.

question 2 - what experience do you have?

Any 3d package, whether it's Inventor or Blender, will have a considerable learning curve to get anything impressive.  In some respects, if you're competent in a package, even if it's not ideal for the job, you may be able to do a better job with it than starting something new from scratch.
