HSM 2015 CAM Tab is not showing up

After installing HSM 2015, the CAM tab in the Inventor command ribbon is not showing up. I didn't get an e-mail about successfully activating the product on my computer. But I did get an e-mail that Inventor Professional 2015 was activated. (This is student license.)

Some details about the situation:

I was able to install Inventor Professional 2015 and HSM 2015 on a desktop computer, and both are activated OK. I am trying to install them on my notebook computer. To save space, I am installing only the mininum.

On the notebook computer, after installing Inventor Professional 2015, I didn't launch the application to activate it online. I went straight to install HSM 2015.

I did successfully update Inventor 2015 after fighting a lot of 1603 errors. I tried repair, reinstall, uninstall then reinstall, but nothing worked. I tried restarting the computer a few times, and still nothing. I tried uninstalling EVERYTHING, and still no go.

It seems I can't really clean uninstall. I no longer need to activate the product after re-installing.

I also tried installing A360 and a bunch of other things. Still not working.

Update:

So I learn that the HSM 2015 installer comes with Inventor 2015. I then uninstall everything by using the Uninstall Tool found in the Autodesk folder in the start menu. Then I went to control panel and manually uninstall everything that was left (there were 3 things, including the Autodesk Application Manager). I then launched the HSM 2015 installer to install Inventor (and enable the option to download and install SP1), didn't install the library, and also installed the HSM 2015 and A360.

After the installation, when I started, it FINALLY asked me to activate HSM 2015. After it went online to activte the license, I got the e-mail saying I have activated HSM 2015 on my second computer. BUT STILL, the CAM tab is NOT showing up upon launching Inventor.

I went to look at customizing the Tabs, but the under the zero document|, there is still no CAM.

Any suggestions?

Go to the Add-In Manager, is Inventor HSM loaded?

Humm. The Add-Ins Manager is not popping up. I mean the Add-Ins Manager itself.

So, on the desktop which I have succesfully installed everything, I went to Tools -> Add-Ins and the Add-In Manager 2015 will pop up. Inventer HSM is one of the item listed as Automatic / Loaded.

On the notebook computer which I am having trouble with, I went to Tools -> Add-Ins, and the Add-In Manager 2015 will not pop up.

Any suggestions?

In the mean time, I am going to install some Add-Ins to see if the Add-In Manager will show up...

So I went and installed from the Inventor HSM 2015 installer the Autodesk CAD Manager Tools, and the Add-In Manager wouldn't show up.

I then went to the Inventor 2015 installer and installed the Mockup 360 and Configurator 360, and the Add-In Manager still wouldn't show up.

I know on my Desktop, both the Mockup 360 and Configurator 360 are showing in the Add-In Manager. So installing them on my notebook computer doesn't make the Add-On Manager to pop up.

Any suggestions?

I also just installed the latest SP from 12/27. After restart, the Add-In Manager is still not popping up.

Perhaps my problem is actually the Add-In Manager malfunctioning? How do I get it working?

Hi @omoikane

Sorry about your issue! Regarding the Add-In Manager, you can check our online instructions first: Load and unload add-ins, and see if this helps.

That still didn't work but I got something new. : p

I have the "mismatched ole32.dll and comcat.dll" error.

I chased down MS KB article Q201364, but when the page load, it is saying "This article applies to a different version of Windows than the one you are using. Content in this article may not be relevant to you." I am running Win 7 64-bit.

I also search the topic here on this board, and found the article "Could not process AddIns in Inventor 2014" and I followed the suggestions there (like repairing, turning off UAC, run as Admin, etc. But as you know from my initial post, I did all that already.) And following the post to "Inventor 2015 SP1 - Missing File Open filetypes - only lists Inventor filetypes" also didn't help because the discussion ended without a solution.

Any suggestions? I hope this get resolved soon as the new semester begins in a few weeks time.

Thanks.

Hi, is there a solution to the Add-in Manager not showing up? There doesn't seem to be a accepted solution posted.

Thanks.

So I just updated the latest Autodesk Inventor HSM Pro 2015 Update 6. And it is not helping. The Add-in Manager is still not loading up.

Any suggestions?
