Hello,
what is best workflow for taped threads? I want to apply ISO Taper (from bundled thread.xls) on weld nipple (ISO 4144 type 308). (R1 1/2" = DN40 pipe)

This is a corresponding line from thread.xls

What shape a solid under the thread has to be?

  • Cylindrical?
    • What diameter?
  • Conical?
    • What diameter of the cone is crucial? Larger, smaller? (Apex angle is constant)
    • What dimension this crucial diameter has to be?

@j.pavlicek

Are you referring to the cosmetic thread feature, or are you planning to model the actual thread geometry?

For the cosmetic threads, all you need is the pipe OD and ID to be correct, and the thread should apply just fine.
