How to set finish Area in m2 in Inventor?

I am adding a finish to an area called "Carpet" and it gives me are in mm^2. I need it to be in m^2.

Is there a way to set it without changing my length units to m too?

Hi @valdas_kulikajevasYW7SV ,

Go to Tools tab in the part or assembly. Then click on document settings

After that go to Units and change the length unit from mm to m

Thank you for reply.

As I wrote in post, I need main length to stay in mm. Only Square area to be in m2.

Personally I'm not aware of any way to allow two different length units to be used at the same time as the document setting for length units only allows one selection at a time.

Perhaps one of the experts can point out a way!

Good luck

It is quite an irritation to have area displayed in mm^2. We also have our dimensions in mm but need area, volume etc. displayed in meters.

Hi!

Here's an workaround (not so good, but that's what we have)

Copy the Finish area as a "copy to user parameter"

Change the units to m^2

link both parameters
set to export (to be able in drawings, part lists etc)
