How to set default units when importing autocad data on Inventor

Hi, there.

I have a question about setting default units when importing AutoCAD data.

I usually use millimeter on Inventor and AutoCAD.

When I import AutoCAD data into Inventor sketch, I have to click right mouse to check importing units.

It's kind of bothering to change units every time.

So, Is there option to set default units for importing cad data?

Please help me.

Thank you!

Hi! If you go through Open -> Import. The dialog options follow last used options or you can load an xml file with preset options. You can specify unit or you let Inventor detect the unit.

If you import the file as a sketch in a part, the unit would be dictated by the ipt document setting (Tools -> Document Settings -> Unit). Inventor is a true-scale modeler, the geometry does not scale based on the selected unit. Only the measurement is adjusted according the unit setting. If it is still a bit confusing to you, feel free to post an example here or send it to me directly (johnson.shiue@autodesk.com).

Many thanks!

Hi!

Thank you for response.

I'm sorry I made you confused.

I meant set to default units about when using control + C , control + V.

Let's start at the source, type -dwgunits in AutoCAD. What does the command line say?
