Hi,

See picture below. Is there a way to remove the small pipe segment between the two 45 elbow? I tried to set the pipe segment incrementation to 0 but failed. Is there a way I can connect the two 45 together without adding a small piece in between?

When I come across this, I set the minimum to 0.001".  Then you just have to place the dim at what the distance from the face to the center of the elbow +0.001".  In our world, this dimension is small enough to have zero effect on the overall layout for our fabricators.

Edit:  I should add that you can place fittings and connect them through the Connect Fitting command, but it's not controlled by your route sketch..

Hi,

You can indeed do what Aaron suggested, though you will still have the small (.001") segments show up in your BOM.  The best way to do this, IMHO, is outside of the route.  In other words, route up to the point of the first 45 elbow, then place both elbows using the "connect" option.  Orient them the way you want them, and then continue routing from the outlet of the second elbow.

Thanks for the replies. I'm thinking Inventor needs to add a 'Removal Small Segment' function if a lot of people have the same issue as me.

Or a mixture of previous answers 😄

Do one route and insert the elbows 😛

To be honest I haven’t tried but I doubt it would work and you will probably end up with a circular reference because you need to update the position of the elbow by the route and then update the route based on the position of the elbows!

You know I have the length of the elbows as parameters so I can precisely dimension my route so I have used them to create the construction line and then placed the elbows in the run.
