How to remove the shadow cast by a local light in rendering?

Hi,

Do you have any idea to remove the shadow cast by a local light in rendering?

Though I could remove the shadow cast by the environmental light using sub-options, I couldn't find any similar options for the local lights.

Anu helps will be welcomed.

Thank you in advance.

For the local rendering ... are you using Inventor Studio?

if so you have to  turn them off here:

Thanks, Michael.

If you meant to use "View" -> "Shadows", it does not work.

Actually, it only works for the environmental lighting.

If you add any local lights, you may see that the options from "Shadows" tap won't work for the local lights....

Hi @Anonymous

Can you share a screenshots or screencast video showing what you're experiencing and what you'd like to remove ?

Thank you so much for your interest 😄

As you can see in the figure 1, I turned off the shadow options.

When I add a local light (figure 2), there happens a shadow (figure 3).

I'd like to remove the shadow cast by the local light.

I attached my inventor file.

Turning all those shadow settings to 0 doesnt fix the problem. In the CAD model there is no shadows at all, but no matter what settings I adjust, the rendered image always has shadows in it, making a picture like this look very messy and unclear.

I would just need the model to look exactly like in the 3D enviroment (including part being semi-transparent if it's set to "not enabled"), but with transparent background (looks like it's called Alpha channel).

Have you turned off ambient shadows?

This topic is about rendering images with Inventor Studio. Model view settings do not apply to renderings.

Did you try "Visual Style", under "Appearance"?

When rendering, you're using a standard light source from the scene you're using, and I'm not sure how to disable it. However, to minimize shadows, you can set up a new light source aligned with the camera angle you're using to render the image, effectively nullifying the shadows. You can adjust the intensity until you've achieved the desired effect.
