You should probably hold your thanks until you figure out the tricks to do it.

Attach your assembly here if you can’t figure it out.

Understood.

Attached is a pack n go of the assembly I am working on.

I wanted the connecting L-Bracket to be patterned around the square profile.

I don't see a part named "L Bracket" and it is unclear to me which component you are referring to and where you want the Component Pattern?

Apologies on that, I refer to it as an L-Bracket but it is a supplier part that has their unique name. The part I am referring to is the image below "Cartridge bracket".

I tried it JD, I patterned a point around my square profile at model level and then I tried to feature pattern the component at assembly level but I could not select the points for the feature pattern?

@CWC_Drawing_Office

I just watched the video again and realized that I skipped over a step.

This is the most common stumbling block and I thought I had included the step in the video.

Because you did not Attach your new assembly here - I am going from memory and might have this slightly wrong.

To select the point pattern from the part click on Modeling at the top of the browser.

Then Expand the part history for the part with the point pattern.

You should now be able to select the point feature pattern from the browser history.

Hi JD,

Attached is an image of the feature pattern basing the 4 points at the centre of each line of the square.

staceyUF8NP_2-1634738469399.png

When I select okay, the point at the top disappears. Any idea as to why?

I tried navigating to the modeling tab by the browser to select the feature pattern, but said feature pattern does not appear in the part history.

If you have an axis going through the center of that member you could just use a circular pattern to get the L bracket on all four sides.

Modeling Browser - not Model tab.

But I got lost in this hole Component Pattern driven by Feature Pattern technique.

As noted by @andrewiv - I think all you need is a Circular Component Pattern.

Agreed, I myself got caught up in it. But nonetheless it is still a valuable lesson you've imparted that will definitely come in handy in different scenarios.

If I'm understanding right, you could use a circular pattern for this task as well. It's more straightforward for me.
