How to modify/extract root content center component from .IDCL file ?

Hello there,

one of our customer sent us an .idcl file containing his content center components. We added it to Inventor (from vault) through the project update tool and now the library is available in our content center. I have difficulties understanding how .idcl files work. Our content center works like this : we created library folder from vault and .ipt files are driven by the family table. So in order to modify the root component, we have a dumb project where those parts are not considered as library files so that we could edit them (see image below). picture1.png

In my situation, I don't have any parts, just an .idcl file (see image below)

So my question is, how can I modify the root component (the .ipt file driven by the table) of this .idcl file ? Also, is it possible to extract the informations from the .idcl file to create 3D .ipt files to recreate the same structure as our content center ?

thank you

I would start with the normal tools for editing CC files...

Try here: http://help.autodesk.com/view/INVNTOR/2019/ENU/?guid=GUID-ECDD0F38-2706-4165-937D-D4E2A8750C4C

I don't think that users are expected to edit .idcl files.
