How to model a tube with a smashed end

I need to model a 1 inch round tube with a smashed end of about 2 inches. See attached photo.

How do I go at this?

Thanks for any help, Allen

There are several ways to do this and not too easy to explain.  However I think sweep might be a good way.

This will do just fine. Thank you very much.

I was trying to use loft but with two hollow profiles and couldn't get it to work.

Thank you all for your input.
