How to make inventor assume two halves instead of one if halves were built

Hi,

I am building a revolution shell in solid parts design as a surface (shell). I draw the sketch, then revolve it 180º as a shell. Then I create another half by mirror. I need to assemble two different parts, the revolution shell (composed by the two halves, and for what I want, I must have these two separated) and another part. The problem is that when I create the assemble and I put the revolution shell, it appears as one single shell instead of two halves. I need the two halves for an analysis that I need to do later. How can I make inventor assume two halves instead of one single shell?

Thanks in advance,

Best regards,

Hugo Silva

The We would need pictures, and model to understand your problem but are you saying the model looks merged as a single entity rather than showing the split lines?

The faces will be merged togheter so you would need to either splt the faces or create the mirror as separate body.
But this is just an assumption without seeing the model.
