Hello.  Was the part you published an iPart?  These table-driven parts in the Content Center usually start as an iPart with at least a couple of line items.  Once you have a table-driven part published, you can add as many rows to the table as you need.

Yes it is a Ipart. but i dont need to add rows to the table. i just need to make sure i can adjust the length of the rail manually. because it is now static on 549mm. i understand if i expand the table i can insert more lenght options. but the length differentiates from 500 to 1000mm so i think its best people can adjust it manually.

Maybe it would help to understand more about how you are using this part.  Is this for building frames?  Or, do you place them one at a time into an assembly?

Thank you, that helps. 🙂

You have a couple of options, I believe.

  • Place each piece "As Custom" from the Content Center.  This would create a new, unique part file each time and you could then change the length as needed.
  • Modify the Length column in your Content Center family and make it a Custom column with an expression similar to that in the images below.  Select the ellipsis (three dots) at the end of the expression window to enter your minimum, maximum and increment values for the length range you want.  This should gain you a prompt when you place the part, where you can enter the length as it is being placed.

I think the 0 needs to be larger such as 0.001. The 1 should be your max length.

In your image, you are trying to add the expression to the Filename column.  That won't work.  Could you possibly share your original (unpublished) ipart file here?  I can take a look at it and see what will work best for you.

You are missing the 3rd value of the expression. Min/Default/max...looks like you may only have the min and default.

And @CGBenner  is correct, it looks like you are applying to filename. This will need to be on the vale that is controlling the length of the rail.
