How to generate .step file for each Model State

Hi,

I have an inventor part that was a couple model states. I wish to convert each individual model state into a .step file.

The reason behind this is we wish to CAM this part (we use Fusion 360) such that it has multiple passes: one to rough out the part, then the next to finish it off. I'm part of a robotics team so we don't have a super advanced CNC -- we don't want to detail these multiple paths through the CNC software directly; we wish to CAM each model state independently.

To upload to fusion, I convert to .step using the file tab in inventor pro 2022 and then upload. However, I can't seem to 'selectively' convert each model state to step.

Any help?

Thanks

Leave the desired Model State active, make sure your features to hide are suppressed, then use File > Export (or Save As) > CAD format.

See example attached.

Hi,

when exporting, select one of the two rounded, 203 or 214.

Hi! Another workflow you could try is to use Fusion Interop without having to export to STEP. The Fusion design should capture the active Model State when you push.

Many thanks!
