How to delete column from table selector without error

I am using a table column selector. I want to delete, add and edit the columns of the table at will.

However, I get an error. Because of a very big problem, I can't do the editing as I want.

It is possible to add an available column, but it is not possible to delete the added column.

Even if I delete a column from the table column selector, the column I deleted remains in Available Columns. And, not only are they not deleted, and the names of existing columns are initialized or changed to unknown names.

Doesn't this problem occur in the English version? Is there a problem with the Korean version? I am not sure how to solve this problem.

I want unused columns to be deleted, I don't want them to be deleted and recreated, and I want to work around weird renaming of existing columns.

I am really confused about this issue. Please help. Attach the idw where the error occurred.

Hi @Anonymous

To remove any unwanted columns, please click on the unwanted item on right right side pane. This will enable the "Remove button" which is below the "Add button" in the middle. Then, u can move the unwanted column on the right side to the left side.

Is that what you want?

thank you for the reply.

I tried pressing the delete button, but it just seems to be deleted.

Back in the table column selector, the deleted column still exists. The delete function doesn't work.

Hi @Anonymous

I am seeing an issue in Inventor 2018 (thats the earliest I have), where I delete the column, exit the dialog and return back and the columns are all back again! Is that issue you are seeing?

If thats the issue, it seems to be fixed in Inventor 2019 onwards.

Can you check to see if you have all the latest updates installed? Not sure which Inventor version you use but if its anything less than 2018, it may be an issue.

I am will have to investigate this on our side and see how it was fixed.

Thanks

Use Inventor 2015. When I delete a column, close the dialog box, and reopen the dialog box, all the deleted columns come back. Is this a problem that can't be solved with older Inventors?

And when I add a column, the titles of the existing columns change weird. Do you know anything about this?

Hi @Anonymous

For the first issue of reappearing columns, I have to investigate the issue and track its history. Most likely there is no fix for this in 2015. I cant seem to find any workarounds so far other than delete the table and recreate it. I will have to ask the team.

For the second issue where you add a column and the titles look weird - I am not able to reproduce this. It seems to work fine.

Is there any chance you can upgrade to the latest version?

Thanks

Adding a column in the table column selector causes the following problem: Some or most of the column names are initialized like this: Column 1, Column 2, Column 3, and so on. Or, the other columns are renamed to the same name as the created column.

Hi @Anonymous

Unfortunately, I am not able to reproduce your second issue. I suspect that we may have had some issues back in 2015. The team did confirm that the first issue with deleting the columns was an issue and got fixed in 2019. For the moment, can you just ignore those unwanted columns?

You could remove all columns from the right side and then re-insert them (and for unwanted columns, just ignore them). I know there are they and a pain to see, but they wont really participate in your table if its' not displayed in the table.

Thanks
