When I downloaded the software it said make two files for Data and files. I have named these two folders and downloaded the software, when checking the files or using search bar, or internet explorer search bar, I cannot find my old designs or files from the previous version of my newly licensed newer version of Inventor Pro for my educational license. How Do I get these very many files which I cannot find anywhere in these files.

Hi

Installing (and uninstalling) the software does not interfere with the user's document files. Unless you deleted them yourself (even by accident), all files should be in the folders you created during the work.

Judging by your image, you need to either setup your project file, or use the same one you had for your older version.

Your workspace should point to the same location your old files are in, by default it will use wherever your project file is, which is probably in the install directory. Yours in the image is set to 'default' so wherever your default IPJ is is where Inventor is looking for the files.

Either load your old IPJ file (project file) or change the workspace to point to your old files (probably in the old installation location if you never changed it.)

Actually I may have actually changed mine, I think maybe by default it sticks them in My Documents?

Anyway, the project file is the key to this, it tells Inventor where to look.

Hello,

I have a new laptop, I never owned any computers before, I have used my college computers to make these files and designs. I now have my laptop and one of many computers next to me which contains these folders which have been named individually containing all my old files, which I need to transfer to my laptop. How do I get the old design files i am looking at on the computer and put them on my new version of inventor pro on my laptop, which is before me, without these files.

I would suggest transferring them with a USB stick unless they are both on some kind of network that can share files.
Then put all the files in the workgroup folder as shown in my previous post about the project file.

You can copy/move files and folders using the same methods as all others - pendrive, external drive, cloud storage. If you had projects created there - the project files are also located in these folders. After moving the files to the same folder on the new computer, you can click "Browse" in the project editor (James' screen) and find the appropriate project definition file, which is responsible for the project structure and the connections between files and folders within individual projects.
