How the setting of surface is saved

Hello,

I need to know, how the settings of surface are saved in .ipt. When I change the surface, e.g. from red to blue, the Inventor must have saved it somewhere - because when the .ipt is reopened, the change still persist. I thought, this should be in iProperties, but I didn't found it anywhere there.

The point is, that I'm making new item in ContentCentre and I want to make it with specific surface (the user will have the option, between more surfaces to choose) and I haven't found, in which property can I define it.

Thank you,

Adam

Hi Adam,

I am sure you are talking about object property, for example, you can select a face and navigate to property from context menu, you will find the appearance definition.

In your case, yes, the properties are well-saved and defined in the file but you can leverage iLogic or VBA to read or write the property.

As for Content center, you can have a try, but I doubt that only part level appearance is one key to be set for CC during publishing.

Hope it helps!
