how do you recentre your view with a space pilot button in 2010

it used to be a custom function

Alt+V R {wait}{wait}{wait} Esc

but now alt+v brings up letters on the icons

Hi,

Do you recall what function is called by this alt-V shortcut? I don't see this shortcut in the french version...

alt+v should envoke the drop down menu for view. it does on 2010 non ribbon interface but just puts a load of letters on the icons with 2010 ribbon interface

Start the Free Orbit command and long left click desired orbit location. Exit Free Orbit and then the 3DConnexion device will use that orbit. Not exactly a one button solution.

Then R is for what function?

On my spacepilot, I affected one button to call the 'Orbit' function and then I click with the mouse to recenter (IV 2009).

thanks for your replies, im just going to go back to the original UI until ribon is more useable. the custom function for 2010 is

Alt+V O {wait}{wait}{wait}

O replaces R to invoke the orbit command
