How do I edit thingiverse files?

Hello, 
I need help. I Am trying to edit this part it was a file from Thingiverse. as you can see Inventor has this tab "3rd party" and it locks the view. I Am new to inventor an i have never seen this before. I want to negatively extrude the part, but if you look at circle #3 you can see that when i try to delete that part it only gives me a solid. On the extrusion menu "circle #1" there usually is a "through all button". its not there im sure im locked from making edits but how do i fix this to be like a regular part?

You are trying to edit mesh geometry with solids. You need to convert the mesh geometry to solid bodies first.

As that part is quite simple, try the Mesh enabler, this will turn the mesh into a solid, and edits should be a lot easier.
