I made a sketch which took a bit of time and I need another one of it to make a slightly different model, is it possible for me to copy the sketch and put it in a new part file or do I have to make a new sketch?

@yasmina.husein Yes, right click the sketch in the browser and click copy

In the new part, select a plane or a face of your model, right click and click paste.

Just remember that this will create a completely new sketch, unassociated to the first. If your intent, rather, is to have the second sketch/part be associative to the first, you will have to derive the sketch. You will not be able to choose the sketch plane using this workflow, though.

Hi! Another workflow to consider is to create Sketch Blocks (right-click on 2D Sketch Panel -> Show Panels -> Layout). You can copy and paste sketch blocks also. The nice thing is that the entire sketch block behaves like a rigid body. All the degrees of freedom are managed within the block. It makes dimensioning and constraining sketch geometry a lot easier.

Many thanks!
