Do you have all Updates for 2019 installed?

You could Save As STEP (*.stp) in 2020 to open in 2019. (For assembly and part files, out of luck for drawing file.)

You can't do this in any way that would let you edit the parts.

I think you can import 2020 as a reference file, but you won't be able to edit the parameters.

No, but if you have a subscription to 2019 you should also have a subscription to 2020 and so you can download that from the account manager.

New versions of Inventor have differences in code and commands. I believe you cannot open future files because Inventor has to rebuild the part from the feature tree. Direct modellers such as AuotCAD 3D do not have this problem so you can back save files.

This is the referencing I was talking about

Have you installed Update 4.6 (I asked this question earlier, but you did not answer.)

Inventor is not backwards compatible. There is no way to open a file in an older version that was created or migrated to a newer version and have it be fully functional.

The best you can do is save as neutral cad formats like STEP or utilize the "ANY CAD" functionality in Inventor

I do not understand this response.

Did you install Update 4.8 for 2019?

Did you then attempt to Open the 2020 file?

Edit: Maybe the question was about opening other 2019 files if you Update to 2019.4.8.

As previously stated, you are opening this as a reference file. It is NOT
possible to open 2020 in 2019 as a complete editable assembly.

Upgrade your software to 2020 and it will solve all these issues.

@Anonymous  We have already told you the potential solutions as far as how to either export to step or other neutral cad format or utilize Autodesks AnyCAD functionality to open a "reference" of that file. We have also told you about the limitations in doing those.

There is NO WAY to open a 2020 file in 2019 and have full functionality. Things like mates/constraints/part feature tree,etc... will be lost.

You can continue asking the same questions but you should expect the same answers.
