Is it possible to create a text box that appears if you hover your mouse on a part in an assembly. It could give information about a part condition which is saved in an excel sheet or something.?

Best,
Lukas

A components iproperties are typically where data about a part is stored.. Description/revision/status and many more default fields plus you can define all the custom iprops you want to.

Not accessible via hover out of the box but you simply right click and select iproperties..

No need for excel

There is also Engineers notebook but its rather basic/limited..

I'm sure that wish some advanced VBA/Visual studio stuff you could do what you want.. But its not out of the box functionality and would require advanced coding..

Hello Lukas,

How about add some Engineering notebook as a workaround?

Hope it helps!

Hi! Another workflow you could try is using MBD (Annotate). You can create a leader text on the part or the assembly directly (2018.1 and later). Then you can create Design View Reps to control visibility of the annotations.

Many thanks!
