Hole Table Row Height

Hello!

From what I have seen, the question I am bringing today as been asked for almost a decade, but i'll give it another go.

Every time I create a Hole Table, I need to manually change the row height (Left - old | Right - new):

  

I have checked to wich rows this happens.

If the rows aren't merged, the height will be determined by the description (expected behaviour).

However, if you create an hole table with "Row Merge Options" set to "Combine Notes", this height will still carry thru.

Is there a way to change this?

I'm using Inventor 2021 latest realease (i don't know how to check the version).

Hi! This is a good catch! I believe this is a limitation or a bug. I suspect it is a timing issue. The row height was probably determined before the rows were merged. As a result, the row height was based on the description. Then, the rows were merged but the height remained the same.

The nice thing about the behavior is that the row height is persistent with or without row merge. The bad thing is that you need to adjust manually. I can work with the project team to see how we can change the behavior. However, I don't think it is a simple and straight forward bug to fix.

That's exactly what I think it's happening!

It also happens when you "Un-split table". For a few times have I split the table, changed the row height just to find out out that I needed to split elsewhere. I do the "Un-split table" and the original formatting kicks back in.

I've seen minor 'tilts' happening around here because of that behaviour. 😅
