hole quantity

I'm having trouble getting the hole quantity specified for the 1.6 mm holes and the counterbored holes. I've tried both variables, but they don't work.

Have you enable the hole quantity count in the edit hole dialogue box or in you dimension styles? Double click the hole note to bring up the edit dialogue and hit the icon circled red in the screen shot below to activate the <QTYNOTE>

How do I set it as a permanent default in the dimension styles?

You can right click on the hole note and select edit dimension style and then follow the arrows below

I did that, but it's not updating in a drawing file.

Forgot to mention that you will need to save the change to the style library for it to be set in new drawings. For existing g drawings you would need to refresh the local styles to the library styles. Look under the manage tab I think.

ok at my drawing sheets to see if I did it correctly. How do I change the styles outside of a drawing file?

Hi again

So firstly you need to make sure that you have read/write access to your style libraries. You can check it  here:

Next with your modified drawing open, goto the Manage tab and save the style

Start a new drawing and the style should be set.

For existing drawings click the UPDATE icon beneath the Save in the screenshot above to update the local drawing styles back to the library.

Hope that helps

Mike
