Hole-Edit Feature-Select Extra Points

1. My hole feature already shows 8 holes
2. My hole feature sketch shows 12 points for 12 holes, 4 of which are not showing on the hole feature
3. When I do an edit feature to try and add the other 4 holes in, it will not let me select those extra 4 points
4. These extra 4 center points are situated at the intersection of 2 construction lines
5. My question is how do I get those extra 4 points selected to show up as those extra 4 holes?
I dont want to redo the hole sketch and feature from scratch

are those point "Center" points? (a cross shape, not just a dot)

if not, change that (easiest way)

otherwise, in the burger menu (top right) you can select a filter for your selection.

Thanks Lucas

Yes they are center points.

What burger menu are you talking about.

Is it this one in the jpeg below.

If so, I have tried ticking and unticking various configurations there to no effect.

could you share the part?

No I cannot share the part, it is company property and propriety information.

What I can do is take it home and modify all the dimensions to make it look like something else

and hopefully the condition that didn't allow me to add the holes will still persist.

I have in the meantime redone those holes completely from scratch,

but I guess it would be nice to know why I wasn't able to do it, that sort of information

could be useful knowledge to have for future reference and future similar cases that might occur

Could be any part... the objective is trying to replicate the issue and try to solve it...
With images, we can't do much...

Yes, thats the burger menu... i forgot the filter only applies to window selection.

just as an idea, have you tried sharing the sketch and using another hole feature?

I realise the issue has been resolved but if you can replicate it, please do share the files or the process...

(also, what Inventor version are you running? (I'm on 2022.3))

Is it possible that those unselectable points are in a different sketch from the others?

okay back at home now and after 6 hours of loadshedding!!, finally on line.

I have tried it here on Inventor 2023 and it works perfectly! How strange.

At work on Inventor 2022 it didn't work and like I said previously, I redid it.

I think I will waste no more time worrying about this one.

Let it be one of those strange one off unsolved mysteries!

Thanks for you input

Thanks Lucas

I am going to leave this one. Like I said in my  previous post, I got it to work at home on Inventor 2023,

and at work redid it anyway.

No they were in the same sketch.

Thanks anyway, I am going to leave this one.

Redid it at work anyway in 2022, and it worked at home in 2023.

Like I said, I am just going to leave it as one of those strange Inventor unsolved mysteries

that it is not worth spending too much time over!

Same thing happening yet again here at work. Cannot modify by adding in points to existing sketch.

Have to redo from scratch when I want to modify a set of holes. Very annoying.

I am wandering if it has something to do me doing holes in machining mode in an assembly rather than just

normally on a part.

Will try to replicate again at home this weekend

okay finally ! whew!

If i turn "allow centre point creation on" while I am doing the edit hole feature, and just put the holes anywhere, I can go back into the sketch again and reposition/reconstrain those extra points.

A litte bit different to what I am used to when modifying holes in a part only.

Obviously modifying  holes in machining mode in an assembly is different.

Thanks everybody who contributed
