Highlighting areas in a drawing

In an engineering drawing I have to highlight the wing areas, is there a way to do this other than manually sketching each area? Example to what I'm trying to do below:

Take a look at my Screencast for a partial solution.  For any total visible area, it is an easy process.  If any part of the area in not visible in the view, completely closed in, to accept the solid hatch, you will have problems.  In the Screencast I did not do any manual sketching, just projections, so manual sketching to complete areas will help.  This method is used to fill in text in title blocks and other defined areas but assembly models usually have to many bodies that break up faces.
