Help With Floor Layout Project

Hello Everyone,

I am working on a project that involves me laying out multiple rectangular tiles over a large circular layout. The tiles also needed to slightly overlap. I am trying to figure out a way for iLogic to help me map out this plan. It will need to be repeat this multiple times with different circle layout sizes which is why I want to set it up in iLogic. I was wondering if anyone has ever done something like this. Obviously any parts of the rectangles that end up outside the Circle need to be trimmed. If anyone has any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it!

Brian

Hi Brian,

I am sorry, are you talking about 2D sketch? if so, are you talking about part or assembly 2d Sketch?

Where is the centre of that circle? is there anything else you can share to clarify a bit more?

Thanks!

Hi! Are you using Factory Design Utilities?

Many thanks!

The center of the circle will be on the origin. And I have been doing it in a part. I will upload an image of my drawing for you all to see. All of the pieces overlap to a set distance unique per project. And all the pieces that end up getting cut are extruded, and then nested to be cut out. Screenshot (4).pngScreenshot (3).png

Hi! Before thinking about how to do it in iLogic, I think you may want to decide how you would do manually. You could create sketches and then adjust the sketches for different design. Or, you could create the tiles enough to cover the designated circular area. Then use Extrude command and select the circle -> Intersect to retain the desirable portion.

The nice thing about the second approach is to simplify the sketch.

Many thanks!

I know how I want to do it manually and have done quite a few of them. Its not hard but just tedious haha. And that is why I am looking to see if there is a way to do it with iLogic. Some of the surfaces are much much larger than that one. And it takes a good long while. I will post a picture here in a few of a larger one.
