I would like to be able to have two different shortcuts while in sketch mode.
I would like to have the shortcut "L" to make a line
but then I would like a seperate shortcut for a thicker, or heavier line.
I feel like this is probably possible, but I have yet to figure out how.
could someone please walk me through it?
Thank you.
Are you talking about in an ipt file?
If so why as line weight will have no effect?
What about a construction line?
I'm not aware of any way to do what you want though.
well the shortcut "L" already starts the line command so long as you're in a sketch environment.
I'm going to have to agree with the person who posted above mine, lineweights in part files are seldom shown. They make no difference to a boundary. If you're wanting to show a different lineweight in your .idw file then you could probably adjust your styles to suit your needs so that object edges (and other edges as well) are whatever thickness you require.
Thanks,
Will
Yeah the only way I know that you could build a shortcut for it would be through API which I don't know well enough to tell you how to code that up. But what I can say, if you're not already aware, is that when you start the line command, click the "Format" drop box in the ribbon and select your line weight. Then every line you draw during that command will have the lineweight you've selected. That is, of course, until you cancel and/or restart the command.
That's all I've got for now.
