Heads-Up Display not displaying

Hi, I am using the educational version of Inventor Pro 2016. I have it installed on both my home pc and my work pc. Everything works fine at home, but on my work pc the HUD does not display. I have checked the options (Tools->Application Options->Sketch->Heads-Up Display) and made sure the HUD is enabled, but it still does not display. I've tried disabling the HUD, closing Inventor, re-opening, and re-enabling the HUD with no success. Is there something I'm missing?

Thanks!

work computer + educational version = no-no Smiley Surprised

I'll assume that you hit the settings button and enabled both pointer and dimension input HUD's right?

Have you tried going to tools..application options..hardware tab and checking "software graphics" then restarting Inventor?

Any work done with the Educational Version will produce a watermark on the drawings that it was done with an Educational Version. A 10,000 part IAM that has a single part created on an Educational Version will produce the watermark on the drawings.

I'm not using it for work on my work computer. When it comes to Inventor, I'm just a hobbyist drafter who sometimes works on his projects while at work.

Yes, I have enabled both pointer and dimension input HUD's.

Checking the box for Software Graphics and restarting did not fix the problem.

The only things I'm working on with Inventor are personal projects that have nothing at all to do with my actual work. I installed it on my work computer because I spend a lot of time in front of it and sometimes work on my personal stuff while at the office.

Edu watermark was "removed" several releases ago.

What I wonder is, will it suddenly "re-appear" at some time in the future (on old work).

pcook, I think I may have figured out a more direct approach to fixing this issue, but your choice to use it depends on how much customization you've done to the program already. I just set my program to its default state settings. If you've never done this, it's kind of odd how Autodesk works in that you need to download a small .exe file that they provide to anyone who wants to reset their program to its default settings. See this page here for all the details: http://goo.gl/QLB7As (if you don't care about any settings you've made in the program and you just want to start with all the default settings, scroll to the bottom of this page and download the .exe file to reset your program).

So you know, I was having the exact same problem as you — all my HUD boxes were checked but nothing was showing. This fixed it. Smiley Happy

Thanks, never had the need to deal with the Educational Version, didn't realize that aspect of it had been removed.

Some more images might help in diagnosing the problem.

Better yet - a Screencast recording going through your Application Options.

Those were all checked, but I was just showing what I see despite the right settings. No matter, I just used the Reset Utility instead and I can see them now. Thanks!

This did it, thanks!

I don't think I had really changed any settings, but even if I had, not having the HUD is worth having to change them again.

I had the same problem when I have Enable Heads-Up Disaply (HUD) checked in Heads-Up Display in Sketch tab from Application Options and I don't see HUD for extrude. I find out that I need to have Mini-Toolbar checked in User Interface from View tab.Screenshot (1).png

Hi! Indeed, HUD option in Sketch does not control feature dialog mini-toolbar.

Many thanks!
